Founded by Editor in Chief Arthur A. Sheridan in 1965. Black Dialogue features art, poetry, writing, and cultural and political analysis from the perspective of the African-American community, often with two editorial boards, one on the East Coast and another on the West Coast. The early issues were published by Ari Publications in San Francisco. Beginning with Vol. 4, No. 1, the magazine moved to New York City [1]. The publisher for this issue is listed as Black Dialogue Publications, with a P.O. Box in Harlem, New York.
