Yang-na (Los Angeles) based artist, Sandra de la Loza, employs creative strategies to mobilize residents, reclaim public space and co-produce decolonizing knowledge and practices to reshape the various social, cultural and ecological landscapes we inhabit. Efforts to co-generate autonomous spaces for artistic production, community action and critical dialogue are an important part of her practice. She is he founder of the Pochx Research Society of Erased and Invisible History (PRS), an ongoing trans-disciplinary project begun in 2002. During the last decade, de la Loza has participated in numerous community based efforts including Staying Together Advocating for Our Youth (STAY), the North East Alliance (NELA), The School of the Echoes, LA Rooted, and Everything is Medicine to employ creative strategies to mobilize residents, shift the debate around gentrification, and build relationships with the land to guide us into our future.
